What is your favorite part about working at TSG?

During my interview I was really looking forward to working in the office since I was so lost at home and even during college, I would spend most of time at Baruch just because I loved being around so many people and being part of a lot of different cultural activities. So, when I started this working remote journey, I was worried but even more I was surprised how responsive everyone was! It truly did not feel like I was slowing down or wasn’t able to grasp stuff just because how quick everyone was getting back to me and especially Lauren for always being a slack away! My favorite part is that even though working remote I do not feel like am behind on anything and I appreciate everyone being only a slack or zoom away!

What is your biggest achievement to date—personal or professional?

My biggest achievement so far is deciding to move to New York from India when I was 17! I graduated high school in May and moved in August. I knew I was uprooting my entire life so far and entering this journey where I would have to start my social life from scratch and leave my mom behind, but I knew I would always be grateful for this decision. I remember my first semester here being the typical introvert and telling myself that it going to be so hard to adjust in a whole new country. But it was in my second semester at Baruch that took matter in my own hands and came out of my bubble! As I look back at it now, I know I came so far and have grown so beautifully through all the difficulties and I truly cherish that decision I made as a teenager!

Who inspires you and why?

Two women because of who I came so far! My mom and my grandma! My dad past away when I was very young and I am totally raised by my grandma because my mom was working trying to get our lives back on track! I am so grateful for them to teach me that the most difficult struggles create the most beautiful stories. I was moved so much, states to states and then even countries but all together they had my back even being 7000 miles away. Whenever I feel down, I remind myself that it is nothing compared to what they went through to give me this amazing life and it really taught me to keep going. I believe this with all my heart that everything makes sense eventually you just have to keep moving forward.

Hidden talents that you can share?

I am a dancer – I have performed at many events during college and it was the best time ever! I also run my own lifestyle/coffee blog (http://www.talkswithpd.com/ ). Even when I log off it’s so hard for me sit still and just do nothing but I am working on it since taking a break is equally important. In my free time and just exploring the city / coffee shops and just having conversations with people who run these coffee spots and it is so interesting to see how they got started and stories behind it! I love my alone time but at the same time I love running a conversation with someone new every time I get a chance!
